Added: VC News USA:WII-KLY UPDATE: TWO NEW CLASSIC GAMES ADDED TO WII SHOP CHANNEL Editorial:GameSpot's Sad State of Affairs
1-Up has an editorial about GameSpot's Sad State of Affairs and here is some of it: "If you ask me, the biggest news from the videogame world in 2007 wasn't about a game or a game maker -- it had to do with a certain game reviewer, and an opinion that got him fired from his job. By now, most everyone's heard about Jeff Gerstmann, the Editorial Director of GameSpot who got canned for his review of the game Kane & Lynch (and I mean everyone -- this story got reported on all over the web). And whether his firing was purely for this review or also for others that preceded it, Kane & Lynch was certainly the straw that broke the camel's back -- and it was this censorship of criticism that caused such an uproar in our and so many other circles around the web. But I don't mean to dredge up the Gerstmann incident again for the sake of it -- believe me, there's plenty to read on the subject out there if you're interested -- I do because of the events of this past week. For those of you who may have missed them, longtime (as in 8 years) GameSpot reviewer Frank Provo and GameSpot Reviews Editor Alex Navarro both quit from the site. Provo, who had written nearly 800 reviews for GameSpot, told its audience that he could no longer work for a publication that softened its scores to appease advertisers. "I won't lie to people and tell them a game is good when it isn't," he wrote in his goodbye note to the site. Navarro also admitted he left in the wake of the Gerstmann incident, saying to joystiq, "It's a crying shame that things went down the way they did...sometimes you just realize a place isn't for you anymore." Navarro had no other job lined up when he quit.
I've refrained from posting anything about the whole Gerstmann incident since it happened in the hopes that CNET/GameSpot management would just come clean on the matter and reinstill some faith amongst its users and the rest of the industry. But several weeks have now gone by with nothing of the sort. Both attempts by management, first in a generic statement and then in a disappointing FAQ of sorts did done nothing to restore any semblance of credibility for the once great gaming resource. In fact, these just seemed to irk readers further. Most importantly, though, these statements apparently did little to restore faith with the GameSpot staff, who have largely lived in a state of uncertainty since it all went down. It's why we saw the departures of last week. It's also why, according to Provo, we'll likely see more in the weeks/months to come." You can read the rest of this from 1-Up above.
Nintendo has some Virtual Console news and here is some of it: "Let's take a quick personality test. Are you the type of person who likes to solve problems by analyzing clues, collecting information and methodically reaching your goal? Or are you more the type to thrust a double-footed kick into someone's face and follow it with a few body blows? Your answers to those questions should help you decide which popular game to choose this week.
Nintendo adds new games to the Wii Shop Channel at 9 a.m. Pacific time every Monday. Wii owners with a high-speed Internet connection can redeem Wii Points to download the games. Wii Points can be purchased in the Wii Shop Channel or at retail outlets. This week's new games are:
ADVENTURES OF LOLO 2 (NES®, 1 player, Rated E for Everyone, 500 Wii Points): Lolo and Lala are back in this sequel to the popular puzzle game THE ADVENTURES OF LOLO. On their return from the Haunted Castle, the Great Devil kidnaps Lala and challenges Lolo to rescue her again. Now he must take on the challenge of the Great Devil's Tower and Castle mazes. Fortunately, Lala was able to analyze each of the mazes as she was taken to the tower and left clues in the Jewel Boxes in each room. Each Jewel that Lolo collects contains information that will help him in the next room. In order to succeed, he'll also have to push tiles, pick up Heart Framers, temporarily turn enemies into Eggs with his Magic Shots and ward off enemy attacks by moving Emerald Framers. With your help, Lolo and Lala will work together to escape the Great Devil's clutches and defeat him." You can read the rest of this from Nintendo's Press Room above.

Added: Back:I am back News:INDEPENDENT DATA REVEALS NINTENDO SALES FOR 2007 News:Ubidays Making A Return In 2008 Rumor:RUMOR - Nintendo punishes Japanes retailers that cut price of Super Mario Galaxy
Go Nintendo has a Super Mario Galaxy Retail Price cut rumor and here is some of it: "Watching the sales of Super Mario Galaxy in Japan has been quiet an entertaining event. When the game first hit, it was met with pretty lackluster sales. It was somewhere around 300,000 for the first week if I remember correctly. Soon thereafter, the game took a big nosedive, and just wasnt selling well. It laid low for a little bit until Wii Fit dropped. Once that game bum-rushed the top of the charts, it brought Super Mario Galaxy along for the ride. Now Galaxy has been hanging in the top ten, so much so that the initial shipments have sold out. That would explain the titles drop to 11th place as of yesterday.
With many retailers considering Galaxy a failure, they started to drop the price just a few weeks after the games launch. Little did they know that Wii Fit and positive word of mouth would rejuvenate sales. Now these retailers are sold out of Wii Fit, Galaxy, and many other Nintendo titles." You can read the rest of this from Go Nintendo above.
Go Nintendo has some Ubisoft news and here is some of it: "London, COUNTRY January 17, 2007 Today Ubisoft announced that UBIDAYS 2008 will take place May 28- 29 in the heart of Pariss world-famous Louvre museum.
Selected European press and business partners will be invited to discover Ubisofts new titles and have the opportunity to play the games that will pave the companys future.
Last years UBIDAYS showcased major announcements, notably the launch of the highly successful Games for Everyone line. The 2008 edition promises to reveal similar surprises and exclusive announcements, while at the same time offer a rare opportunity for guests to meet Ubisoft team members and creative talents." You can read the rest of this from Go Nintendo above.
Nintendo has some Sales Data that some people may have missed if their Internet was messed up last night and here is some of it: "Nintendo DS and Wii Finish as the No. 1 and No. 2 Best-Selling U.S. Systems.
REDMOND, Wash., Jan. 17, 2008 Nintendo DS and Wii finished strong in 2007, commanding sales in the holiday shopping period and finishing the year as the two best-selling video game systems in the United States, according to new data just released by the independent NPD Group. Nintendo DS was the top-selling U.S. system of 2007, with nearly 8.5 million sold, including more than 4 million in November and December alone. Wii placed second, with nearly 6.3 million sold through the year, more than 2.3 million of which sold in the final two months.
"By the end of 2007 we were sold out of virtually all hardware, and much of our stock of software and accessories was sold out as well, thanks to the broad appeal of Wii and Nintendo DS to core gamers, women, families, grandparents and seemingly everyone in between,"said Cammie Dunaway, Nintendo of Americas executive vice president of sales & marketing. "And that momentum continues here in the early weeks of 2008."
Some additional facts about Nintendo's 2007 performance in the United States (note: All figures are from NPD):
Nintendo accounted for 52 percent of all video game hardware systems sold in 2007 more than all other manufacturers combined." You can read the rest of this from Nintendo's Press Room above.

Normally i don't report about the Weather but i would let you know that it is Snowing out here and if you are heading this way to go to a friends house from another State Be Careful while driving or flying.
Nintendo has some Release Date news and here is some of it: "REDMOND, Wash., Jan. 16, 2008 With their focus on fun for everyone, Nintendo's Wii and Nintendo DS systems are leading a new movement in the world of video games. Games based on brain exercises. New experiences that surprise even core gamers. Grandparents buying video game systems for themselves! Surely, these are unprecedented times.
"The video game industry has never had so many new players, and they've never had so much fun," said Cammie Dunaway, Nintendo of America's executive vice president of sales & marketing. "Our momentum is not limited to one system or one game. We're going broad and bold in 2008, with something for every member of the family."
Nintendo DS and Wii finished as the No. 1 and No. 2 best-selling systems of the year, respectively. Nintendo continues its momentum into 2008 with a strong lineup of games. In the first half of 2008 alone, more than 65 new Wii games will add to the current library of more than 195 and 80 new Nintendo DS games will add to the current library of nearly 500. Nintendo DS opens the first half of the year with games that demonstrate the breadth of the Nintendo DS library. Advance Wars®: Days of Ruin is a treat aimed squarely at core gamers, while Crosswords DS is for all consumers, whether they currently play games or not.
Likewise, the first half of 2008 brings a diverse array of Wii games from Nintendo, including core games like Super Smash Bros.® Brawl; games with universal appeal for gamers old and new with Mario Kart® Wii, which uses the easy-to-pick-up Wii Wheel; and Wii Fit, which comes with the Wii Balance Board and has appeal for new consumers well beyond the traditional video game audience. On top of all that, new downloadable WiiWare games will make their debut. These unique games have much lower entry barriers for developers and let consumers enjoy an incredibly diverse selection of content." You can read the rest of this from Nintendo's Press Room above.
IGN has a GDC 2008 Preview and here is some of it: "While the consumer-oriented Electronic Entertainment Expo has churned through a series of soul-searching changes over the past few years, its developer-focused counterpart, the Game Developers Conference, has been happily plodding along as usual, bringing game makers together once a year to talk some serious shop.
This year's GDC will be no exception - the conference, to be held at San Francisco's Moscone Center Feb. 18-22, will feature lectures, tutorials and keynotes by a diverse group of game developers, from BioShock auteur Ken Levine to visionary videogame pioneer Ralph Baer.
Today, GDC Executive Director Jamil Moledina announced Nintendo has signed on to discuss the creation of Wii Fit, the planning of the Wii menu, the state of the upcoming WiiWare channel and a discussion about the creation of characters in the recently-delayed Super Smash Bros. Brawl." You can read the rest of this from IGN above.

Added: Fan News:Evidence WHY Nsider is coming back, Prepare to be blown away
Well WWA of Nsider RP Committee has some strong Evidence as to why Nsider is coming back and here is some of it: "Dear Sir, ...Are you saying that Nintendo Power was wrong and that the forums AREN'T coming back? Or, just that you don't know what they're going to do with the forums? If it's the second, that's alright because we understand that such things must be considered carefully.~_^ We don't necessarily expect you to keep everything the way it was. We sent our request because that's what we'd like to see or not see come back regardless of what other changes your company deems fit to make. ^_^Thanks for forwarding my e-mail!
Sincerely, ~WWA P.S. Could I have contact information for your sources please? Thanks
And he sent this:
E-mail: I received this reply:
Hello, > > Thanks for writing back. We truly appreciate your interest and support of > the forums. There are no plans for the forums to return. They are closed > indefinitely. You are more than welcome to continue checking > www.nintendo.com for product information and announcements. > > Sincerely, > > Nintendo of America Inc. > Lauren Taylor
So I sent this response:
Dear Madam, I do not understand. ?_? I called to confirm the information given me in Nintendo Power, and was told that the Nintendo forums were being re-done, and that they were going to return, though the time was not known. The gentlemen who e-mailed me before wrote and said that the return of the forums is uncertain. Then, I receive your e-mail that says the forums are not coming back. So, is there someone, like a hire-up, that I could contact, who could give me the right story? I mean, I've called Nintendo at least a dozen times and I have received a different story just about every time. It would be great if I could find someone who could give me answers. My friends have called and received similar and just as inconclusive results. I even have the phone number of a Nintendo personnel in NY, but he won't call me back and I've left 2 messages on his machine. So, if you could put me in touch with someone who can tell me the answers I'd really, really appreciate it. Infact, the entire Nintendo Nsider Community would appreciate it. Thanks again for your patience in dealing with little 'ole me.
Sincerely,
~WWA (While I was waiting for a response I called Nintendo. The dude at Nintendo told me that the forums are comming back!! XD I also acquired a phone number to the Nintendo HQ in NY. Shortly after I acquired it, and left several messages, their phone number wnet out of service.)
This is the response to what I sent:
Hi WWA,
I'm not sure at what point the magazine might have said the forums were returning, but I can assure you that the forums, as they were, are gone. All of this is contained in NOA Andy's message that you can still read at forums.nintendo.com. There reall is no further information than what he stated there.
Nintendo of America Inc. NOA Mac
It holds hope and promise and further clarifies the situation we are in!^_^ So I sent this response:
Dear Sir, Ah, now I understand!^_^ Thank you so much!^_^ It makes everything so much less confusing!^_^ I am so glad they will be coming back, even if they won't be the same as they were before. (Though that logically stands to conclusion.) Is there anything about the update that you can tell me aside from the fact that it will change the forums? Thank you so much. My comrades and I are very happy. XD Sincerely, ~WWA
So wecannow officially spread it tothe four winds that Nsider is indeed returning. XD
The return of Nsider was also stated in Nintendo powers volumes 222, and 223 by Chris SL. ~ZELDAMQGC2" So you know Zeldamqgc2 is my Nsider/Tech Support Forums name at Nintendo.com and You all know i listed what Chris SL said in Vol 222.So once we hear more about this from Chris SL i will update about this and share it else where too. Also if you feel the need to agree with this then contact WWA and tell her that you are adding your source for any Nsider news you may have and if it's important she will add it.
