International news magazine The Economist is not where we expected to find the Wii. After all, The Economist is where we find out about the invisible rich in the U.K. and Macedonias consideration for membership in the European Union. Its serious news and our beloved Wii is, after all, about serious fun.You can read the rest of this from Go Nintendo above.
As hard as it may seem to believe, the Nintendo Wii launches less than a month from now. Its been a long time since E3 2006 where Nintendo dropped a bomb on the collective gaming world when they announced that their next-gen console wouldnt be called Revolution anymore. Oh, no, its definitely the Wii. Now, not to blow too many minds, but when the name change was originally announced, a good deal of people werent too hip to it. In fact, quite a few people were sure that it was just a joke on Nintendos part. Lets have ourselves a flashback sequence, shall we? Even me EZLO21 hated the name Wii at first too.You can read the rest of this from Go Nintendo above.

Nintendo clearly has a lot of faith in Wii Sports. The game ships with the Wii console, after all at least in America and Europe, anyway (sorry, Japan!). But I'm not so sure. In the last couple of weeks, I've had the chance to log several hours into the compilation of games and I'm not entirely convinced that these mini sports outings work as well as Nintendo hopes, prays and maybe even believes they do.You can read the rest of this from IGN above.
Nintendo brought its upcoming Wii console to this year's Anaheim, California-based Life@50+ event, an annual showcase sponsored by the former American Association of Retired Persons designed to expose people over 50 years old to the latest in technology. Since the announcement of the Virtual Console, Nintendo fans have known about the ability to purchase a chunk of their childhood from Nintendo, this time on the new Wii console. When the Big N unveiled the concept there was little to talk about, as fanboys across the globe debated whether or not we'd be paying $20 a pop for age-old NES games (Thank you very much NES Classics for GBA), and how exactly we'd be able to trade in our gargantuan lot of currency for timeless Nintendo classics. Would it be done with point cards? Would Nintendo break into the space-time continuum and automatically subtract Virtual Console purchases from future paychecks to soften the blow for us? Would the Wii accept American Express? Fans everywhere were stumped. You can read the rest of this from IGN above.

The Twilight Realm sucks the life out of living creatures and turns them into something else. They claim that while traveling to Hyrule Castle, Link is pulled into the Twilight Realm and turned into a Wolf (Edge said after being ambushed by the Moblins). Midna approaches Link in his cell and promises to help him return his world to normal. Wolf Link can climb up cliffs. You use the A button to leap from branch to branch in Ordon Woods as Wolf Link. People absorbed into the Twilight Realm are actually "still there". They're just phased out so nobody can see them. You use the "sense" ability to sniff these beings who are sucked into the Twilight Realm out and "see" them, as well as to find hidden objects. It works like the Stone of Agony from Ocarina of Time, which utilized the Rumble Pak. Wolf Link will be able to travel between the Twilight Realm and the normal world, confirming Wolf Link can exist outside the Twilight Realm (as Edge reported). You can read the rest of this from The Hylia above.

So, why did you originally decide to undertake this particular project?
As I wrote in my introduction, I felt that we should accurately document the course that led to the creation of Wii. With Wii, Nintendo has taken the idea of breaking with the past and made a console with the somewhat overblown code name "Revolution," all in the hope of dramatically changing the way things are done. This was definitely not an easy path, and we often worked without being able to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I felt very strongly that I wanted to document this process. Of course, for people that want to know what ideas were behind the creation of Wii, this kind of record might be valuable and interesting, but I didn't want to force it upon other people that might not be interested in hearing it. That's why we decided to put it on Nintendo's homepage, so it would always be available to everyone who wants to read about it. We thought that this would be the ideal format to inform people about the history of Wii and the ideas that went into its development. You can read the rest of this from Nintendo above.
