Go Nintendo has Takeshi Shimada's Keynote and here is some of it: "Igarashi still makes 2d games because he loves the style of 2d, and there are a lot of benefits when it comes to 2d for Castlevania. 2d and 3d offer very different gameplay experiences. There are 4 types of gameplay in Igarashis mind timing, distance, positioning, and Direction. All these are very important to Igarashi when he produces games. The problem Igarashi sees when producing 3d games is with taking a 3d space and projecting it onto a 2d monitor. The size ratio of characters and settings are scaled in real life terms in 3d, but when it comes to seeing this on a 2d screen, things change. Judging distance between items and enemies in 3d is also much different in 3d. 2d clearly shows your relation to the enemy or setting because there is only one view. This allows for instant action in 2d games. 2d allows for full use of Igarashis 4 key points." You can read the rest of this from Go Nintendo above.
Go Nintendo has more on the Chris Hecker Wii Statement and here is some of it: "I dont know who has read the internet, yesterday. In a [unintelligible] panel I said a bunch of things. I was trying to be thought provoking and entertaining and fun and a lot of the stuff went too far over the topon the entertaining and fun side, so that it was no longer thought provoking, just inflammatory. And in the process I hurt a bunch of people I care about. And so, I want to apologize now." You can read the rest of this from Go Nintendo above.
Well i am going to get some sleep now i will be back with more later until then Zelda Dreams and Tetra wishes to all and to all a good night.

Youtube has a Phantom Hourglass Video and you can see the video above.
Go Nintendo has Aonuma's Reflections of Zelda Speech and here is some of it: "Mr. Aonuma is talking about Wind Waker. Unfortunately the game did not sell very well in Japan, but sold very well in the US. Aonuma was convinced that it did not sell well due to the graphical style. There was a mix of seasoned gamers getting board, and new gamers being too intimidated to play. Twilight Princess was originally titled Wind Waker 2, which later moved away as the game went futher into development.
Aonuma is moving into the connectivity aspect of the Zelda series. He is discussing the Four Sword Adventures for the Cube. Mr. Miyamoto felt this title was important because it would use connectivity as the main aspect of gameplay and therefore Aonuma went ahead with it. That title did not sell too well either, which is closely related to all the hardware needed to play. Another reason was how difficult it was to pull gamers in due to the nature of the title. It was hard to show off just how to play the game, what you needed and what needed to be done in a simple commercial.
Moving back to Wind Waker, while the game did sell over a million units, the title trickled off in sales quickly after passing that mark. The reason Twilight Princess went with a more realistic style was because Aonuma wanted to give the North American market what they wanted. The North American market is much stronger (when talking Zelda) than the Japanese market, so the move was made. The gameplay was to be more realistic as well, when compared to Wind Waker." You can read the rest of this from Go Nintendo above.
I have added a Super Mario Galaxy Video to this Server. So if you want to see it go to the Super Mario Galaxy Video section to see it.
Video Game Developers Honor Nintendo with Awards A jury of Nintendos industry peers has honored the video game company with Game Developers Choice Awards for innovation and game design for Wii Sports, which comes packed with Nintendos hot-selling new Wii home system. Nintendo also won an award for writing for The Legend of Zelda®: Twilight Princess. The awards were presented the evening of March 7 at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco. They represent the peak of video game excellence, as voted on by game developers from around the world. The Game Developers Choice Awards Advisory Board also honored legendary Nintendo video game designer Shigeru Miyamoto with a Lifetime Achievement Award. Wii Sports continues to resonate not only with consumers but also with the creative soul of the industry: the game developers themselves, says Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime. Wii is designed to allow creativity to triumph over technical and financial barriers, and Wii Sports is a perfect example of how a great idea can succeed on its own. Wii Sports and The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess were nominated for five awards in four categories.

Mr. Kondo is speaking about rhythm, balance, and interactivity in video game music. He is starting with rhythms that are easily recognizable. It is important to work with these rhythms and time them with the gameplay as well.
Clips of Super Mario Bros. are being shown to futher main points of game music. Marios running and jumping were taken into consideration when creating the main tune. It is important for the music to reflect the unique ideas of the game. Gameplay progression and music progression go hand in hand. Once main details of a game are recognized, music can begin to be created. It is extremely important to create a rhythm that doesnt get tiresome." You can read the rest of this from Go Nintendo above.

Rethinking the Development Timeline Speaker: Takeshi Shimada (Nintendo Co., Ltd.) Date/Time: Friday (March 9, 2007) 10:30am 11:30am Location (room): Room 135, North Hall Track: Production Format: 60-minute Lecture Experience Level: All
Session Description In today's day and age, when development budgets are skyrocketing and technology is advancing quickly, what can developers do to ensure their unique game ideas make it to market? Takeshi Shimada has been creating development tool libraries for Nintendo's game creators for nearly 15 years. Most recently, he was involved in the critical and commercial success, Brain Age: Train Your Brain in Minutes a Day. In this session, He walks through how the advance preparation of good development libraries streamline the creative process for game development teams. This approach allowed Nintendo to develop a game in 3 months, with a development team of fewer than 10 members, that has gone on to sell more than 5 million copies worldwide. Shimada provides insights and practical information that any developer can use.

As one of the industry's most highly regarded composers, Kondo has composed timeless pieces that help bring Nintendo's stories to life through music. Starting with Super Mario Bros. in 1985 to the recently released The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Kondo has continuously redefined the definition of a game soundtrack.
During this in-depth session, Kondo illustrates how his method of composing interactive music is unique by dissecting various examples of sounds and music from the Super Mario and Legend of Zelda series. Although the art and science of videogame music has changed dramatically during the last 20 years, his work has remained consistent and allows Nintendo's musical soundtracks to soar. Learn what inspires Kondo to create musical masterpieces as epic as the tales they accompany.
