Added: News:What's the ultimate game idea for the Revolution Controller? part 3 News:Retro Remix: Round 2
IGN has released Retro Remix: Round 2 so check it out.I am sure they will have a 3 and 4 before it is all said and done.
Steve T: Here's one: the controller is perfect for moving and positioning your troops in a real-time strategy game. It may not be the sexiest idea, but it would make games like starCraft a lot less frustrating on consoles.
Steve G:Agreed! console RTS games haven't been able to surpass PC-mouse control, and the Revolution controller would totally solve that. Better yet, if Peter Molyneux could bring his Black & White series to the Revolution, i'd be in heaven.RTS control. Petting your divine pet (or smacking around your evil pet). Spellcasting with flicks of the wrist.
Steve T: Anything from Peter Molyneux would be cool, for that matter. I really want to see what some of the more-creative developers like him can do with the controller. Maybe Suda 51 of Killer 7 fame can make a crazy adventure game that constantly throws different uses for the controller at you.
Steve G:I'll second that. No matter what we armchair developers think up, it's mad geniuses like Suda 51 who may truly shock us with the controller. But people play a Jack the Ripper game? Humm. Dress that slash-and-dash idea up in Solid Snake camouflage, and I think I've arrived at a winner! Calling Kojima...Mr.Hideo Kojima?
This was from Nintendo Power Vol 201 which is why it took this long to finish instead of 1 day.It is on page 26 of NP Vol 201 so you know.

I am picking up where i left off with last night's What's the ultimate game idea for the Revolution Controller point counter point article. Since it is a long one.So here goes:
Steve T:Such barbarism. Some of us are a bit more cultured; I, for one, would prefer a game where i'm using the controller to conduct an orchestra. Or getting my groove on with Samba de Amigo, using two controllers as a pair of maracas. But that would require the ability to enjoy something that doesn't involve stabbing people.
Steve G:Maybe what you seek is a teadrinking sim. Maybe the controller would lift your pinky finger to just the right elevation....ok, if jousting is too caveman for you, maybe fenching is actually better. More movement strategy, but still superbrutal.
Steve T:Hey I've got an idea! How a game where you pick up various blunt objects strewn about the environment and use them to bludgeon Steven Grimm by swinging the controller?
Steve G:Petty jab aside, i think you might be on to something.Remember the excellent Second Sight? How about a psychic game where you latch onto an object by jabbing your controller at it, throwing it like casting out a fishing line then guiding its flight?

YOSHIYUKI OYAMA has this to say about Ganon in Twilight Princess:
"No discussion of Twilight Princess' enemies can end without mentioning Ganon,I know that everyone's wondering what's going on with Link's old nemesis. All I can say now is, we're preparing more than you could possibly ever, ever, expect."
This is from Nintendo Power Vol 201 page 48 which talks about Twilight's Evils. So for those who did not know where to find it now you do.
While the annual Electronic Entertainment Expo is certainly about games, the show is notorious for its often ribald atmosphere. By now, our readers are familiar with the barely-dressed "booth babes" which each year are as ubiquitous as the giant flat-screen displays and screaming speakers. You can read the rest of this from IGN above.
Outspoken 3D Realms CEO Scott Miller has recently updated his official blog to wax about the upcoming next generation console wars. In his writings, the industry veteran makes his predictions about the eventual popularity of the three major consoles, including Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Revolution. He mainly thanks that the Revolution will suck. But i Have news for Him if he is reading this from my site You Have Not Tried The Revolution Controller Bud!! Til you try it out don't think it will get 3rd til it is out in stores all over the world. But you can read the rest of this from IGN above.
The Steves butt heads about the game-design possibilities of the Big N's latest and greatest device. It is long so i will give it a little at a time so here goes:
Steve T:The game I most want to play with the Revolution Controller is an atmospheric survival-horror title.Using the controller as a flashlight to illuminate a dark alley or abandoned mental hospital could be completely engrossing.Of course, if you're easily started, like Steven, it might be difficult to keep the controller pointed at the screen as you're flailing your arms in terror.
Steve G:Uh, we're talking ULTIMATE ideas here, not merely good ideas. So man up and replace that flashlight with a jousting lance! Staring down fear is x100 scary when rushing toward a knight on horseback.Imagingsticking that lance in at just the right point, and skewering him through the rib cage!
I will add more to this later today or tomorrow so you know.

A Nintendo-funded marketing survey recently offered a glimpse of how Revolution's "virtual console," or downloadable games service, may function. Though hardly representative of the final product, mock-ups from the Big N's marketing firm, Zanthus, even showed off what the graphical user interface for the system could look like. Sources close to SEGA have told IGN Revolution that the developer is working on a new entry into the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise for Nintendo's next generation console. The title, purportedly developed by a "top-tier" SEGA team led by Yuji Naka, will not be a port of the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 game tentatively dubbed "Sonic the Hedgehog [next gen]." Instead, say insiders, it is an entirely original effort designed from the ground up to take advantage of Revolution's unique controller. No further details are available at this time.Read the rest of this from IGN.

It sounds a little weird... There's Sonic, sure enough. But there he is racing around on hover devices with his buddies when he can run just about as fast as sound. Weird. We figure it makes as much sense as Superman's jet, but that doesn't mean Sonic Riders can't still be charming. In fact, this racer looks a bit like a cross between Trickstyle and Mario Kart. At least it's a fast ride with a heavy emphasis on environment interaction, shortcuts and basic aerials.

While the world debates the intricacies of the Revolution's controls and complains non-stop about the lack of technical advantage the system may have compared to its competitors, This is what IGN had to say "IGN would like to take the necessary time to focus on a huge advantage the Revolution holds during this next generation of gaming. Nintendo has been a powerhouse of development for over 20 years, starting in the early '80s with the Famicom and NES, respectively. Nintendo has not only chosen to focus on intriguing gameplay this time around, but also on those roots that were set up over two decades ago. Reggie and company have boasted Revolution to include the most launch titles in history with Revolution supporting not only GameCube, but N64, SNES and the original NES games in Nintendo's new download service. For that reason, we here at IGN believe a rebirth of retro gaming is in order, and we present to you Retro Remix." So check out the link above for the rest of this.
